Friday evening’s lecture

For the participants who arrive on Friday we would like to offer a lecture by professional Enda Hideki, 9p. This lecture will take place at the EGCC at the time which will be known later.
The lecture is free of charge, but we need to know how many people are interested. If you would like to join this event, please send an e-mail to

Facebook page

To keep you up to date with all the recent news, we have created an event website on facebook. Feel free to join it and share it with your friends!
Of course the updates will be also available on our website, so please visit it regularly.

Special guests

We are happy to announce that the Mayor of Amstelveen, the president of the EGF and the representatives of Japanese Embassy will join the prize-giving and closing ceremony on Sunday.

We are looking for cheap accommodation for the participants. The options we have for now:

1)  the hostel StayOkay in Amsterdam Zeeburg. The offer we have for now is 5 x 5-person rooms (total 25 places), for 31 euro per person per night (inclusive breakfast and bed-linen, but you should take own towel!). With public transport it takes about 15 minutes to the Amsterdam Centre and 50 minutes to the EGCC. If you would like to use this option, please let us know as soon as possible! We will reserve places on a first-come, first-served basis.

2) Hotel Abina in Amstelveen, 20 minutes walking distance from the EGCC. You can book the room online – if you share a 2-persons room with another Go player, it will cost you about 35 euro per night (inclusive breakfast). You can reserve your own room on the website.

3) We are currently waiting for a reply from the scouting house. It is suitable for people who only need the sleeping place (and are planning to bring their sleeping bags with them!). It is within 15 minutes walking distance from the EGCC and costs 4 euro per night. It is not yet sure if we can use this space, but we will keep you posted!

Please contact us if you have questions or suggestions.

See you soon in Amstelveen!
